The Best You Can Get

  • Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception Video Game

Expert says: The best action/adventure series for the PS3 is back with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.  Ridiculously lush visuals and an intuitive control scheme paired with competent voice acting and story telling, PS3 owners are going to have a fun filled holiday this year.  Beyond the compelling single player campaign, UC3 has expanded on its multiplayer mode making it a truly standout experience, with all new level ups and perks.  Drake’s Deception is also compatible with Sony 3D TV’s so get ready for some Matrix style bullet dodging.

  • Resistance 3 Video Game

Expert says: The battle rages on in Resistance 3, where you fight an never-ending onslaught of alien invaders in this tightly wound First Person Shooter.  Capable of off and online co-op play, Resistance 3 is also compatible with Sony 3D TV’s as well as the Playstation Move motion controller.  One of the original launch games for the PS3, The Resistance series has been a must play franchise with an interesting retro art design and story, in addition to a great multiplayer suite.

  • Dead Island Video Game

Expert says: Bringing the zombie infestation to the tropics, Dead Island is an open world, first person role playing game that further reinvigorates the ever thriving genre.  With a huge island to explore and conquer, this brand-new franchise allows players to play the game how they like featuring character and weapon customization popular in today’s role playing and action games.  Grab three of your best zombie killing friends and play the whole game cooperatively online.  While individual zombies themselves may die, zombie games and movies will live on eternal.

  • Battlefield 3 Video Game

Expert says: With more hype than just about any other game this holiday season, Battlefield 3 is going to be awesome.  Unveiling the new destructive powers of the Frostbite 2 engine while unleashing the most robust squad based multiplayer experience available, BF3 is going to be a beast to say the least.  Beautiful graphics and responsive controls with the promise of several DLC (downloadable content) will have you playing BF3 relentlessly into the next year.  The direct competitor to the Call of Duty series and “which game is better” debates from fanboy’s around the globe, BF3 will surely be worth the price of admission.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Video Game

Expert says: The never wavering mega-freight train that is the Call of Duty series continues to press on with this year’s Modern Warfare 3.  The 3rd entry of the FPS that changed everything MW3 should be another walk in the mine filled park as players can immerse themselves in a taut and highly produced single player campaign, as well a robust as hell multiplayer suite.  New locations such as a decimated New York City should allow players another insight into occupied US territory which was first introduced in Modern Warfare 2.
