The Bionaire is very effective at minimizing litter box odor. After a month of use I hardly smell anything except when I raise the dome and scoop the poo. It is not very noisy. My only comment is that my cat sticks her butt in it & has her front feet outside then reaches in to cover the detritus but causes a mess of litter out side the box.
