The Wooden Duck, based in Berkeley, California, is committed to providing relatively affordable reclaimed wood furniture to the public. They import much of their wood from Indonesia, but also offer a line of reclaimed Douglas Fir furniture that’s made from demolished Pacific Northwest and California barns and warehouses. (Douglas Fir is the hardest of the “soft woods”.) Because the wood is old, its unique patinas come from true age, and are not created by use of artificial “aging” chemicals. The Wooden Duck will also repair their furniture free of charge within a year of purchase.
