Falling Up escapes the fleeting dawn, but not the dreaded sophomore slump

Good enough, thought its dangerously close to falling to the negative side. A surprising underachiever though, especially considering the strength of their debut. A dead end second release for a band, more often called a sophomore slump, is comparable to what a p...

Not a bad follow up by falling up

Listen and think. Thinking is not usually associated with rock music. Falling Up writes lyrics that inspire thought in the listeners and fun in the music. This band is good. I have seen Falling Up live listened to the first album "Crashings" many times and anticipated the r...

Pros: More of the same sound of their debut; Moderate consistency and a dependable musical core

Cons: More of the same sound also makes for a dryer, unexciting, predictable trail of music

muzed

Pros: this time around the lyrics catch up to the beat.

Cons: The album needed more spontaneity.

divad23

Pros: Falling Up's style is still fun. A few songs are remarkably catchy.

Cons: REALLY REPETITIVE. Song structures are too similar, and synths play a less prominent role.

Pros: Nicely written lyrics, some powerful moments.

Cons: Songs seem to bleed together, probably due to the fact the themes are quite similar.
